Frequently Ask Questions

Whether you’re a ministry leader looking to join our peer support network, a potential partner, or simply curious about what we do, this page provides answers to common questions about our mission, platform, and services.
What is 99One Ministries?

99One Ministries is a non-denominational Christian organization that provides ministry workers (e.g. leaders, missionaries) an innovative web and mobile application. It was created to leverage an established technology platform in the battle against addiction, anxiety, burnout, isolation, etc. deeply affecting kingdom workers worldwide.

Is the 99One platform new technology?
Yes and no. 99One Ministries is built on the proven platform of Peer Connect from First Response Mental Health. First Response Mental Health has been a leader in providing peer support networks for emergency services, operating in over 100 cities across Canada and the United States. By leveraging the successful model and technology of Peer Connect, 99One Ministries adapts this expertise to support ministry leaders, offering them a similar robust and effective peer support system tailored to their unique needs.
Is 99One another form of social media?
No, 99One is not another form of social media. While it facilitates connection and communication, its primary focus is on providing intentional, timely peer support for ministry leaders. Unlike social media platforms, 99One is designed to offer a safe, discreet, and purpose-driven environment where users can receive proactive wellness check-ins and responsive support tailored to their specific needs. Our platform emphasizes mental and spiritual wellness rather than social interaction.
Who can sign up for 99One?
Anyone can download the 99One app and access our free resources, including a library of educational materials and events. However, to participate in the peer support component, Christian organizations such as denominations and mission organizations must sign up on behalf of their members. We are actively working towards making the peer support network available to individual churches and smaller groups in the near future.
How does the 99One app work?
The 99One app facilitates peer support networks by offering regular wellness check-ins and immediate support during critical times. It connects members based on roles, struggles, age, and specific needs, creating a personalized and effective support system. Organizations determine who can be included in member groups, whether limited to their organization or partnered with others.
What makes 99One different from other support platforms?
99One is unique in its proactive approach to wellness, offering both scheduled and responsive check-ins. Our platform also connects users based on specific criteria, ensuring personalized support. Additionally, we leverage strategic partnerships and clinician-endorsed training to provide comprehensive, faith-based care.

Our long-term goals include expanding our support to church members, offering business mentorship, and providing multiple dimensions of support. We aim to create a global impact by forming partnerships with ministries worldwide, fostering healthier and more connected faith communities.
Are the peer facilitators trained?
99one Peer Supports are put through a training program and participate in ongoing best practice mentoring. Many of the Peer Supports already have professional mental and spiritual health equipping and experience in their vocational training but 99one aims to keep equipping fresh and intentional.
How is 99One a benefit to organizations?

99One provides a platform and community that empowers individual members of organizations to create their own peer support networks to enhance their mental and spiritual wellness. When individuals participate in choosing the support that’s best for them, they are more inclined to remain committed and engaged. Proactive peer support is a proven, preventative practice that can bridge a necessary gap before professional intervention may be necessary.

Why do ministry leaders need peer support?
Peer Support is a proven preventative practice that provides encouragement and prompting for individuals. Ministry leaders are used to pouring into others and carrying burdens for them but they are often isolated when it comes to support for their own needs. 99one provides proactive peer support that enables ministry leaders to build peer support networks that stretch beyond their circle of influence to provide a safe, intentional space to receive encouragement and prompting from those who understand the challenges and struggles they may be facing.
Shouldn’t ministry leaders be spiritually solid?

Of course, the power and fulfilling of the Holy Spirit in our lives provides more than enough to sustain us and overcome our trials to produce fresh fruits of the spirit. At the same time, we are sinful beings who sometimes lose sight and become distracted by worldly stresses and happenings. We are also created for fellowship and discipleship with one another for the purpose of glorifying God as the larger church body. Ministry Leaders, like all of us, can never get enough encouragement and certainly need safe spaces with other believers to refine and refocus when faced with struggles. 99one doesn’t replace face-to-face peer support but rather provides another, uniquely discreet, channel to ensure no-one is left isolated to struggle alone.
